Stock Photo License Fee Quote Checklist

Information required to quote a stock photo license fee:

1. Nature of use: Print advertising, editorial, web, television, CD-Rom, or other.

2. Circulation or print quantity rights required: For a display ad campaign, this is the combined circulation of all the insertions for the entire run of the campaign. For other print items like flyers and brochures, this is the amount of items you intend to print. If it is a web site, the forecast number of impressions you wish to have the rights to display for the image(s). Television circulation is calculated in the same manner as display advertising. For editorial use - the circulation of that issue.

3. Location of image(s): For a brochure or flyer, this is asking if the image will run on the cover (front or back) or inside the piece if it is multi-page. On a website, this is home page or inside page.

4. Size of image: This is relative to the page or screen it is displayed on - not physical dimensions. In other words - is the image covering the full page, ¾, ½, ¼ or less of the actual finished piece.

5. Regions: North America, worldwide, Los Angeles, you get the idea, tell us where you need the rights to run the images.

6. Languages: Just English? Or will you need multiple language rights?

7. Exclusivity: Most rights are non-exclusive. For those customers needing exclusivity, we can license our images for specific periods of time on an exclusive basis but those license fees are higher than non-exclusive use.

Please plan ahead for payment arrangements. We will only send originals or high resolution files after payment in full of all fees. We can accept checks, money orders, wire transfers and credit cards. If you plan to pay by credit card please note that we use the PayPal service.

PayPal requires any customer making a purchase in excess of $2000.00 to be "verified" to prevent credit card fraud. You will need to set up your "verified" status with PayPal in advance (2-3 working days) of the delivery of master images or files. It costs you nothing to set-up this status and you can close your PayPal account immediately on closure of the stock photo transaction. However, if your purchase is for $1,999.00 or less, you can make your purchase with your credit card like any other credit card purchase without setting up a PayPal account at all.
